Title: Interigation
Artist: Ignas Krunglevicius
Date: 2009
What is it made out of: Dual channel video installation.
Where is it: Two large screens placed on the floor.
How big/small is it: Both screens are farely huge.
How is it framed/mounted/displayed: The screens are connected, and are placed in a V shape. You can see inside the V shape, and are able to see both screens at the same time.
What is the light doing: The room has been darkened, and the only light is on the screens which help us to focus on what the video is showing and not on other distracting images in the room. Makes you feel like you're in a movie theartre, where you are expected to be quiet and not distracting throughout the presentation.
Other: "This enthralling dual channel video installation delves into the psychology of police interrogation through an abstract assault of sound, text and colour. The work borrows an excerpt from a US police transcript between the detective Robert John and murder suspect Mary Kovic (a pseudonym) who allegedly killed her husband in 2004.Interrogation is an immersive experience that deconstructs the politics of power laced within language and explores the ability to coerce compliance through the craft of speech." http://www.tetuhi.org.nz/exhibitions/exhibitiondetails.php?id=152
