LENS- Artist Research, Daniel Kukla


Daniel Kukla

Article written on Daniel Kukla and his work 429,690 acre Joshua Tree National Park in southern California.

I love these pictures because of how contrasting the reflected image on the easel is against the natural landscape. It's like being in two places at once and yet the reflection is showing what the camera can't capture. The mirror is somehow capturing the unknown in a way. 
Looking at his work also sparked the idea of looking forward but making sure you acknowledge whats 'behind you'. 'Behind you' could represent the past, where you don't live in your past but you do acknowledge that it's there to learn from.

This is my favourite out of the photos. I love lights, especially star light, so this looks really pretty to me.
